TRIPS Overview
“TRIPS was developed through the insight, innovation and funding from the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Office of Freight, Logistics and Passenger Operations. TRIPS is administered and managed by the University of South Florida’s (USF) Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR).
The TRIPS (Transit Research Inspection Program Services) a State-wide purchasing agreement for accessible vans, buses, and Personal Protective Equipment. It is administered by the Florida Department of Transportation and it’s contractor, USF’s Center for Urban Transportation Research and provides established FTA compliant equipment contracts, oversight, and inspection services for procured vehicles. The program is open to agencies who meet certain eligibility requirements and provides special discounted pricing on the equipment offered. Generally speaking eligibility is determined by agency mission, ie. not for profit, and at least 50% of revenue is derived from governmental sources, city, state, federal. There may be other qualifying factors as well, please call if in doubt.”
